DATA POND AND DATA LAKE: THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Some Infor SX.e users have concerns that moving to Cloudsuite Distribution, Data Lake and Birst could mean losing custom reporting they’ve built their businesses around. Various reports and queries need to be rebuilt because you cannot query Data Lake in the same ways you did with your on-premise reporting in the past and some fields are different. Additionally, while Infor Birst has many advantages over legacy reporting tools, it can take time and resources to convert your existing on-premise reporting over to Birst.
With Tridex Systems’ Data Pond, you now have a way to replicate your Data Lake information on-premise so you can keep running the same SQL Server reports you’ve been running for years. This is the best of both worlds for distributors running Infor – enjoy everything Cloudsuite, Data Lake and Birst have to offer while running the reports you’ve relied on for years.
DATA POND: AN ON-PREMISE SQL DATABASE THAT MIRRORS DATA LAKE
Data Pond provides you with an on-premise copy of your data in a SQL Server database. We use the same files that Cloudsuite Distribution sends to Data Lake and ingest that data into an on-premise copy. So every time you touch a record inside of Cloudsuite Distribution, you have data sent to both Data Lake and Data Pond.
DATA POND IS EASY
Data Pond works behind the scenes with no user intervention.
- Data is updated in Cloudsuite Distribution through the course of work
- New data objects are sent to Data Lake
- We send those data objects to Data Pond using ION
- You now have an on-premise SQL Server database that mirrors Data Lake
- Continue to enjoy Data Lake and Birst while you also enjoy your previously created reports and queries.
